The Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in dry dock in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. She was in dry dock from 4 October to 25 October 1973. The photographer is looking forward and to starboard from the bottom of the dock abreast the propeller shaft showing the port side of the ship. Three parallel and one vertical divers search lines have been painted on the hull. The draught marks I, II and III have been painted white and a ladder is propped against the hull to complete the draught mark painting up to the waterline.
