On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is looking forward over the bridge roof from 44 station on 02 deck showing the tripod of the MRS.3 test horn mounted at the front of the bridge roof. In the foreground is the windbreak of the gun direction officer's position. The ship is berthed port side to the quay and ahead of her are a Leander class frigate with the tank cleaning vessel Caldy (1943) outboard. The type 61 air direction frigate Lincoln (1959) is berthed at the west end of the basin. A vertical format negative.
