The photographer is looking forward from 45 station on the port side of 02 deck showing two of the action lookout positions and the gun direction officer's position. The gun direction officer's sight has a canvas cover. The tripod mounting of the MRS.3 test horn is fitted to the front of the bridge roof. The ship is berthed port side to the quay and ahead of her are a Leander class frigate with the tank cleaning vessel Caldy (1943) outboard. The type 61 air direction frigate Lincoln (1959) is berthed at the west end of the basin.
