On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is looking forward from 47½ station on the starboard side of 02 deck showing the 20 inch signalling projector on the left with the MRS.3 director ahead of it, trained to starboard. A ten inch signalling projector is mounted on the outboard rail. Two of the action lookout positions have canvas covers. The tripod mounting of the MRS.3 test horn is fitted to the front of the bridge roof. The ship is berthed port side to the quay and ahead of her is a type 61 air direction frigate. The type 61 air direction frigate Lincoln (1959) is berthed at the west end of the basin. A vertical format negative.
