The Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is looking aft, to starboard and slightly up from the quayside showing the upper hull and superstructure of the ship from the bridge to the stern. Her pendant number is F119. Her foremast has the type 965 radar AKE1 aerial at the top and she has type 293Q radar on a support structure between the foremast and the MRS.3 director. A canvas covered single 20 mm oerlikon gun is at 01 deck level abreast the enclosed bridge. The ship is berthed port side to the quay.
