On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is looking forward and to port from 41 station on the starboard side of the oerlikon deck between 37 and 41 stations on 01 deck. The replenishment at sea tripod is mounted at the forward end of the deck and the single 4.5 inch gun mount is ahead of it at 1 deck level. The ship is berthed port side to the quay.
