The photographer is looking aft and to starboard from 39 station on the starboard side of the oerlikon 01 deck showing the single oerlikon gun at 41 station. The gun is under a canvas cover. Two liferafts are next to the gun mounting and the stairs up to the starboard bridge wing are on the right. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. In the background berthed alongside the east wall is the Royal Fleet Auxiliary store carrier Bacchus (1962), pendant A404, with lighters PAS 1109 and C42 outboard.
