On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 40 and 43½ stations on 01 deck looking forward and to port from the centreline at 43 station showing the forward screen. A telephone switchboard with two handsets and two headsets, a depth, roll and speed control box, a dedicated telephone to the operations room, a loudspeaker and an asdic type 177 repeater unit are against the screen.
