On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the lobby between 43½ and 45½ stations on the centreline of 01 deck looking aft from 44 station showing the sliding door to Cabin No. 1 on the extreme left and two combination locked cupboards and a rolaveyor are on the right. Between the arched openings is a cupboard and beyond the second arch is a deck mounted bollard winch. A fuse panel and an automatic emergency lantern are above the hatch leading down to 1 deck.
