On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the battery charging room between 48 and 50 stations on the centreline of 01 deck looking to port and aft showing the charging board, a boric acid storage box and the lead lined tray against the port bulkhead. Two large batteries are under the charging board and emergency lanterns are under the worktop. A blackboard is against the aft bulkhead. A Canning stoneware receptacle is on the deck.
