On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the wardroom between 50 and 56 stations on the port side of 1 deck looking to port and forward from 53½ station showing the wardroom table with nine chairs round it. Against the forward bulkhead is a large sideboard and on it are a half-eaten Christmas cake in the corner, some cups and saucers, a milk jug, sugar bowl and a coffee percolator. A serving hatch into the wardroom pantry is next to the coffee machine. On the end of the sideboard are a letter rack and napkin stowage. Against the ship's side are four easy chairs, a radiogram and a framed photograph of HRH Prince Philip in the uniform of an admiral of the fleet.
