On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the 4.5 inch handing room and gun crew's shelter between 74½ and 75¾ stations on the centreline of 1 deck looking to port showing one of the ammunition hoists in the left foreground with a cable reel above it. A smoke locker is at high level with another cable reel below it and the handle of a piasaba brush is alongside the cable reel. A first aid cabinet, a communications and log book desk, two cable reels and a locker are against the forward bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
