The photographer is in the main communication office between 41 and 45 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 42 station showing the desk of the ship to shore bay fitted with a telephone switchboard and a Consul duplicating machine. Next to it is Bay 2, the typist and distribution supervisor, equipped with an Olivetti 82 typewriter and with a three drawer filing cabinet underneath the desk. Against the starboard bulkhead are two voice pipes, a telephone, a cupboard and a noticeboard with a christmas card pinned to it. Against the side screen is a combined radio stateboard and on the other side of the screen is Bay 4, the position of the senior radio operator. The open door to the compartment is on the left. A vertical format negative.
