On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the crew's galley and preparing space between 45 and 50 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to port into the servery from 48 station. A shelving unit with a Formica and plywood top is in the centre of the space. Hot cupboards and an automatic emergency lantern are against the aft bulkhead.
