On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the junior rates' dining hall between 50 and 56 stations on 2 deck looking aft and to port showing four lines of tables set athwartships with their stools upturned on the tables. High level cupboards are against the ship's side. A half block relief model of an inuit in a kayak is in a glass fronted case mounted against the ship's side. Christmas decorations adorn the deckhead of the hall.
