On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the combined technical office between 58¾ and 61¼ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard showing two single pedestal desks against the aft bulkhead. A planned maintenance job card board is mounted above the desks and the columns run from Week 1 in October 1973 to Week 16 in January 1974. A July to December 1973 is on one of the desks and a daily calendar for December 1973 is above the job card board. A telephone, another job card board, a name plaque for CMEA (P) M. Watson (who was a member of the crew at the time of her recommissioning on 15 December 1973) and bulldog clips of papers are on the right. Sliding door stationary cupboards are at high level. In the corner is a four drawer filing cabinet with a shelf above it. Against the side of the ship are a key cabinet and a Mark IV combination safe. A pile of ledgers are in the left foreground. Note the different type of desk lights compared to those shown in negatives numbers N68000 and N68001.
