On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the primary steering position between 61 and 62½ stations to starboard of the centreline on 2 deck looking to port from the forward end of the space showing a cupboard labelled "Pneumatic and auto controls workshop" and above it are a junction box with the same label and a gyro compass circuits junction box. A bookshelf and an emergency connection box are against the forward bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
