On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the C.P.O's mess between 67 and 73 stations on 2 deck looking forward showing the door to the mess with an automatic emergency lantern to the right and lockers and a settee bench against the port bulkhead. A bar is in the corner and it has Courage cool sparkling beer and Courage draught lager pumps on it. Cool cupboards and a roller shutter are at the back of the bar and a statue of two antelopes mating is in the back corner. Four stools, a settee benches and an upholstered bench seat are in the sitting out area.
