On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the C.P.O's mess between 67 and 73 stations on 2 deck looking to port, slightly aft and up from 72 station showing a noticeboard and kit lockers against the aft bulkhead. The door to the mess is open and an international breathing apparatus cabinet is outside the door in the passageway. An automatic emergency lantern is by the side of the door. Caps are hanging on coat hooks on the right. A vertical format negative.
