On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the Royal Marines' mess between 50 and 56 stations on the starboard side of 3 deck looking into the starboard aft corner of the sitting out area showing a settee bench in the corner with a cupboard and a bookshelf above it. A tin of sealer is on the bookshelf. Two folding tables and two plastic chairs are on the settee bench, as are kitbags belonging to men of 45 Commando.
