On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the lobby between 75 and 76½ stations on the centreline of 3 deck looking to port showing the door to the aft pump space on the left. A fire main, hose basket and fire extinguisher are in the aft corner. In the port bulkhead is the door to the A/S and 4.5 inch metadyne compartment. The stairs lead up to the lobby outside the laundry on 2 deck. A vertical format negative.
