On board the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) in No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard during her 1971-1974 modernisation. The photographer is in the spirit room between 45 and 46¼ stations on the centreline of 4 deck looking forward and to starboard showing a large number of cases of Whitbread Brewmaster beer stacked from deck to deckhead. This space was formerly used for the storage of the ship's rum but the issue of the tot ceased 30 July 1970 and the space became the ship's alcohol store. A vertical format negative.
