A starboard side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) berthed on the south side of No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard. The photographer is on the quayside abreast the hangar looking forward and to port. Men are on board working on the guardrails and on the 27 feet motor whaler in its davits. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and her forepart is partially obscured by a quayside crane and by her brow. She is a unit of the 6th frigate squadron. Motor cars and a Kawasaki Windjammer III motor cycle are in the foreground. A vertical format negative.
