A starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the Type 81 general purpose frigate Eskimo (1961) berthed on the south side of No. 3 basin in Chatham Dockyard. The photographer is on the quayside abreast the stem looking aft and to port. The MRS.3 director and her main radar aerials have been rotated. Men are on board working on the 27 feet motor whaler in its davits. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and she has a Fyson mobile gangplank forward and a brow amidships. Her pendant number is F119 and she is a unit of the 6th Frigate Squadron. Her bow is out of the picture and the afterpart is partially obscured by a quayside crane. A Leander class frigate is berthed astern of her. Motor cars including an Austin or Morris 1100 and a Ford Escort are in the foreground.
