On board the Type 14 utility frigate Duncan (1957) alongside the fitting out berth in the shipyard of John I Thornycroft & Co Ltd on the River Itchen at Woolston, Southampton. The photographer is looking forward from 26 station on the port side of 01 deck showing the bridge wing. On the outer screen are a 10 inch signalling projector, a T.A.S. sight Mark II and an azimuth repeater. Against the forward screen are stowage boxes for an aldis lamp and a lantern. Against the enclosed bridge bulkhead are hand grenade lockers on either side of a whip aerial trunk.
