A port side midship detail view of the Type 14 utility frigate Duncan (1957) alongside the fitting out berth in the shipyard of John I Thornycroft & Co Ltd on the River Itchen at Woolston, Southampton. The photographer is on the quayside abreast the bridge looking to starboard and aft showing the upperworks from the funnel aft to 51 station, including the stern of the 25 feet motor cutter, the twin trainable torpedo tube mounting, the mainmast and the catwalk between the forward and aft ends of 1 deck. The funnel has a black top as leader and has the pendant logo of the Fishery Protection Squadron. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. A vertical format negative.
