The Type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in No. 8 dry dock in Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. The ship was in the dock from 5 August to 7 September 1971. The photographer is on the floor of the dock looking forward from abreast the port propeller showing the port side of the ship including the stabiliser. Divers' search lines have been painted on the hull and 'C' sentries have been fitted to the bilge keel. A man is holding up a name and description board and a scale stick near the keel blocks. Spare keel blocks are being lifted by crane from the floor of the dock.
