The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer is at deck level on the quayside abreast 'B' turret looking to starboard and aft showing the face of the superstructure, the enclosed bridge, the command platform, the MRS3 director, the foremast and the forefunnel. The ship's badge is fixed to the face of the superstructure. The top of the foremast is out of the picture. A commodore is looking forward from the roof of the enclosed bridge.
