The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer is at 01 deck level on the quayside abreast 'B' turret looking forward and to starboard showing 'A' 4.5 inch Mark 6 Mod. 1 gun turret, the breakwater and the forecastle. On the edge of 1 deck are two oiling at sea roller fairleads. Petty officers are moving stores on deck. The shipyard receiving shed and erecting shop are in the background.
