On board the County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer is in the upper command position at the base of the foremast between 66 and 72 stations at 04 deck level looking forward and to port from the starboard side. An azimuth repeater is mounted on the top of the screen and against the screen are a telephone key box, a range receiver, a gyro compass circuit box, a check fire push box, and voice and communications circuit control boxes.
