The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer is on a raised position on the quayside looking to starboard and down showing the flight deck and the aft end of the Seaslug Mark I missile launcher. The Westland Wessex HAS.1 helicopter XP156 (1962) 902/HA is on the flight deck. The loading hatches to the Seaslug missile loading space are open.
