The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer is on a raised position on the quayside abreast the ship's superstructure at 01 deck level looking to starboard and aft showing the port side of the ship from 100 station to the stern, including two 25 feet motor cutters, the after funnel, the port GWS21 Seacat launcher and director, the open hangar, the type 901 radar director, the Westland Wessex HAS.1 helicopter XP156 (1962) 902/HA and the Seaslug Mk. 1 launcher. A petty officer is climbing the brow bringing stores aboard and an Hillman Minx motor car is parked by the side of the brow.
