The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer is on a raised position on the quayside abreast the superstructure at 01 deck level looking to starboard and forward showing the slab-sided superstructure between 56 and 90 stations. The ship's name plate and honours board are on either side of the door into the officer's bathroom at 78 station on 01 deck. The accommodation ladder is stowed against the port guardrail. Above 02 deck are the MRS3 director, the base of the foremast and the signalling deck.
