The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer has been lowered from a crane to a position off the starboard side of the ship abaft the mainmast at 03 deck level. He is looking forward and to port showing the base of the mainmast, a 25 feet motor cutter and a 27 feet motor whaler in their davits, the forefunnel and foremast with the signalling platform between them and the command platform. An awning is rigged over 01 deck between 58 and 84 stations.
