The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer has been lowered from a crane to a position just off the starboard side of the ship abreast the forefunnel at 03 deck level. He is looking to port and slightly forward showing the signalling platform between the foremast and the forefunnel. Shipyard buildings are in the background and a clock is reading 10.07. The bow of the BP tanker British Mariner (1963), yard number 715, can be seen on Berth No. 4 in the right background.
