The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer has been lowered from a crane to a position just off the starboard side of the ship at 03 level abreast 'B' turret. He is looking aft and to port showing the command platform above the bridge, the starboard bridge wing, the MRS3 director, foremast, forefunnel and mainmast. The accommodation ladder is fixed to the guardrails and an awning has been rigged over 01 deck between 58 and 84 stations. The tanker British Mariner (1963) is building on Berth 4 in the background.
