The County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The ship is berthed port side to the quay. The photographer has been lowered from a crane to a position at 03 deck level just to starboard of 'A' turret. He is looking aft and very slightly to port showing 'B' turret and the superstructure and masts to the stern. The ship's badge is mounted below the command platform and above the bridge windows. The top of the foremast is out of the picture. The stern of the tanker British Mariner (1963) is on Berth 4 in the right background.
