The photographer is in one of three petty officer's messes forward on 1 deck: a mess for 21 men between 50 and 58 stations on the starboard side, a mess for 33 men between 58 and 71 stations on the port side and a mess for 33 men between 58 and 72 stations on the starboard side. On the left is a row of kit lockers, in the centre is a back-to-back row of triple tier bunk units and on the right are more kit lockers and further triple tier bunk units. The nearest set of bunks is numbered in the 20s. The same image as negative number N18015.
