On board the County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The photographer is in the canteen square between 90 and 99 stations on the centreline on 1 deck looking aft and to starboard showing the serving hatch and letter box of the regulating and mail office and the door of the routine office in the starboard bulkhead. On the right is the canteen roller shutter and the main passge between 99 and 106 stations which has notice boards on either side. The stairs lead up to 01 deck.
