On board the County class guided missile destroyer Hampshire (1961) in the fitting out basin of John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The photographer is in the steam turbine room between 90 and 106 stations on 3 deck looking athwartships to starboard from the aft end of the engine room. Stairs leading up to 2 deck are close to the aft bulkhead. A small workbench with a cupboard and four drawers under is on the far platform and to the left of it are a lubricating oil cooler outlet panel and an automatic emergency lantern.
