The County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The photographer is looking aft, down and slightly to port from a high position on a quayside crane showing the ship moored starboard side to the berth. Moored astern is the tanker Talamba (1964), yard number 1879, launched 22 July 1963 and delivered February 1964 in Trident Tanker livery. In the right foreground is the extreme stern of the passenger/vehicle ferry Gaelic Ferry (1964), yard number 2001, which is also fitting out. A vertical format negative.
