On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 50 and 57 stations on 02 deck looking forward and to starboard from the port side showing the stairs up to the command platform. Against the command platform base are an electric fire and a communications desk equipped with three telephone handsets and a telephone control box. Against the forward screen are a range and bearing repeater, a bearing repeater, a present range receiver, weapons systems push buttons, a telephone, a microphone and a window wiper control unit. The starboard bridge wing door is open.
