A port quarter view of the Royal Navy aircraft carrier Glorious (1916) alongside a wharf in Alexandria harbour, Egypt. Her quarterdeck hangar door is open. The destroyer Searcher (1918), seen from very fine off her port quarter, is alongside the carrier and her pendant number is H20. The photographer is on board the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) and is looking forward and to starboard from the starboard side of the poop. Two London class cruisers and other ships in the background are dressed overall. The Glorious was at Alexandria on the following dates: 5 September to 21 December 1935, 3 January to 25 April 1936 and 4 May to 23 July 1936. Negatives numbers P83762 to P83765 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
