On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the cross passage between 81 and 84 stations on the port side of 1 deck looking to port and slightly aft showing the door to the naval store office at the end of the passage with a transformer and two fuse panels next to it. A fuse panel and a nest of 18 small lockers are against the forward bulkhead. In the centre are stairs and a wire rope ladder leading up to 01 deck and an open hatch leading down to 2 deck. Two isolating switches and two fuse panels are against the boiler uptake space bulkhead on the left.
