On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the technical office between 72 and 81 stations on the port side of 3 deck looking forward and to port. Four desks with drawers under and shelves over are against the ship's side. A telephone is on one of the desks. A desk is athwartships at the aft end of the office and a key cabinet is against the forward bulkhead. Large steel cupboards are against the inboard bulkhead.
