On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the C.P.Os and P.Os servery between 136 and 140 stations on the port side of 1 deck looking forward and to starboard through the open roller shutter. Two hot water cylinders are on the servery counter. Two refrigerators and two shelves holding jugs and teapots are against the forward bulkhead next to the hoist trunking. Plate racks are in the starboard forward corner.
