On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the C.P.Os and P.Os dining hall between 136 and 144 stations on 1 deck looking aft and to port from the starboard forward corner. Two tables are laid with cutlery and condiments. Against the bulkhead on the right are a condiment cupboard and a plates and tumblers cupboard. A cold water dispenser is against the corner of the bulkhead. Against the aft bulkhead are a four slice electric toaster, two loudspeakers and a plate storage unit.
