The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the asdic control room between 53½ and 58 stations on the centreline of 2 deck looking to starboard showing three positions R, S and T against the forward bulkhead. An asdic type 177 fuse panel, a pitometer log speed repeater, a bearing recorder's console and a safe are against the starboard bulkhead. A telephone and control box, a fuse panel and a tannoy loudspeaker are against the aft bulkhead. The chair of the senior man is sited on top of a low cupboard overlooking the other operators.
