The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the operations/air direction/weapons direction room between 58 and 67 stations on 2 deck looking into the port forward corner showing an Admiralty Research Laboratory plotting table and a visual display unit with a terminal and dimmer unit, a pitometer log speed indicator and distance register and a rudder indicator. Under the deckhead above the plotting table is a plaque 'T.A.S.C.O.' and the plaque above the visual display unit is 'Command/O.R.O.' Against the forward bulkhead are a range and bearing repeater, a speed, roll and depth repeater and a receiver/transmitter unit. A tannoy loudspeaker is above the arched opening.
