On board the County class guided missile destroyer London (1961) alongside the fitting out berth at the Neptune Works of Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd at Wallsend-on-Tyne. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. The photographer is in the Type 992 radar office between 71 and 82 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft towards the door. Alongside the door is the Radar Type 992M control and fuse distribution panel manufactured by Aish & Co Ltd of Poole. On the left are Admiralty Pattern cabinets containing meter unit, amplifier unit, drawer for spares, fire and fault audible alarm, control and alarm and a a visual display unit. The type 992M is a short range air search target indication radar. Vertical format negative.
